Figurative Language

 

1.  Locate a metaphor on page 80.

 

2.  Review with your group the definition of an idiom.  Can you find one on page 93?

 

3.  Based on the information on page 96, can you infer what it means to 'clay pepper' and 'shag fungoes'?

 

4.  Page 101 is full of personification.  Locate three sentences in which personification is utilized by the author.

 

5.  Read the introductory paragraph of Chapter 29.  What type of figurative language was used to vividly paint a picture in your mind?

 

6.  The last paragraph of Chapter 30 contains a metaphor.  It's tricky to find.  Go for it!
